Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

The Red Apple offers a 3-Day Preschool program for children ages 3-4, and a 5-Day Pre-Kindergarten program for five year olds.  Our programs are structured as a developmentally appropriate weekly theme based curriculum.  Hands-on experiences help children understand concepts as we emphasize phonics, math and creative art.  Within our loving and caring classrooms, each child is given the opportunity to develop positive self-esteem.
 
 Through a well-planned and fun curriculum, children are stimulated and learn important skills like following directions, sharing, problem solving, cooperation, the importance of friendship, and respect for others.  We encourage children to have fun learning, while preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.

Rest Periods
 Children have a had a busy morning involved in exciting, educational, and fun activities. Therefore, your child needs rest.  The State of Iowa requires a supervised nap or rest period/quite time for children under the age of 6 years, not enrolled in school, who are present for five or more hours.  We provide the cot and sheets, and it is asked that each child bring in their own small pillow and blanket.  If needed, your child may bring a favorite blanket or sleep toy from home.
